Today is Unlucky Day! Wow! What a day to end on. After all the fun and food, the calendar slaps a downer day right in my face as if to say "Haha! Fooled ya! It was all a long rise leading to an anti-climactic anti-celebration"
Or maybe what makes this day unlucky is the fact that it is the last day. All the holidays are over and celebrated, and this is the last day I get to write to all you lovely people and tell you what to do today. I'll miss it. You might. The Internet as a whole... Well that'll pretty much stay the same.
Of course, it doesn't lessen the memories that I've made while visiting museums, trying weird food, and learning about customs from other places around the world. This'll be a year I won't soon forget, if only by the holiday memories' merits alone.
The Unluckiest thing that happened to me, and still IS happening, is that I can't think of something new and fun to keep my mind busy. If I don't find something to keep myself distracted and experiencing new things, I might accidentally do something weird and crazy. Like... write a book. Or something. That's what wild and crazy people do, right? ARGH! The clock is ticking! I have to go think of something fast!
Here's hoping your year was just as filled with fun, and that your next brings even more new things into your life. Have a good one, folks!

Trust in Mutts
Today is Mutt's Day! Having been an owner of what I'm 87% sure was a mutt, I can say that mutts make fantastic pets. See, a mutt is a pet (usually dog, although it may stretch over into other species) that is not thoroughbred. It can come from a line of simply two different breeds, or it can have a lot of diverse influence going on in it's DNA. Whatever it's ancestry may be, it always makes for a unique look and personality. These aren't the kinds of dogs that you'll see being paraded around the park like they own it all (their owner might, though). These are the kinds of dogs that like to run freely and get dirty playing with other dogs and small children. They make much better pets than thoroughbreds because they are so much less haughty. Mutts know they aren't perfect, but they're perfectly fine with it. They take what life gives them and make it work. Plus, if Mutts didn't exist, thoroughbreds wouldn't have anything going for them.
Here's a video of some mutts!

Loony For Macaroons
Today is National Macaroon Day! Macaroons are cookies made without flour. They were made a long time ago by italian monks, but became a popular addition to passover meals. They are also very delicious. I really don't know how to convince you to celebrate this holiday, because it you have to be convinced to eat a cookie, there is something wrong with you that I can not fix. Macaroons are by no means rare, so if you can't cook, then you can pick some up at almost any grocery store. So go out and get some already!

Bunsen Clams
Today is Bunsen Burner Day! The inventor of the bunsen burner, Robert Wilhelm Eberhard von Bunsen, was born on March 31st, 1811. The bunsen burner is an important part of scientific experiments. At least it was on the high school level, but I assume real scientists use it constantly as well because that's what I see in the movies. I don't know of any way to celebrate this holiday other than playing experimenting with a bunsen burner. I suppose you could also simply spread the word about Robert. His name is a mouthful, though.
Today is also Clams On The Half Shell Day! Today, go out to a seafood type restaurant and order clams on the half shell. Or just go get some clams yourself and eat them. It's a raw dish. See what makes seafood so disgusting? I mean fruits and vegetables are also technically raw when I eat them, but they also were never sentient beings. Don't get me wrong: I eat cow/chicken/pig and all that good stuff. But aquatic things just... they don't change looks from the habitat to my plate. It freaks me out!

Somebody really likes popcorn.
Today is a repeat holiday, National Popcorn Day. It's odd due the fact that the other National Popcorn Day was only about 12 days ago. Anyway, we've already discussed how to celebrate that holiday, and I've almost used all of the popcorn puns at my disposal doing it. For those of you who weren't here, grab a bag of your favourite popcorn today and go to town on it. Caramel, Cheese, Buttered, Plain, Kettlecorn, Mint, Toffee, or some of the weird flavours that I may not even know about. I think there's a bacon one available somewhere online.
Today is also Child Labour Day. A day to be aware of the fact that there are places in which children are being worked more than they should for way less than they need. Maybe find a charity that works with children that have been or are being put through these kinds of situations, and find donate something that could help them.
It is also the anniversary date of The Green Hornet's first radio broadcast, which gives me the perfect excuse to go see that movie today. I hope it's good... Haven't heard any reviews on it.
