Eat it Fast, it Doesn't Last

Today is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day! Today combines two of my favorite things to eat: Ice Cream and Sandwiches. I love ice cream sandwiches because thats exactly what it is. What you see is what you get. It's a simple summer time treat and it's not going to throw you off with any crazy surprises like a fruit center. The one problem with it is that it is by far the fastest melting kind of frozen good you could eat. Due to the fact that you eat it in the heat of the summer and you are holding it with your hands that have been warmed by the sun, there is no buffer zone for it to keep it's cool. But, that doesn't really matter all that much because you usually eat it so fast that only a few drops of ice cream hit the sidewalk and immediately evaporate. Plus, you are left with parts of the bread (which is chocolate by the way) coating your fingers and you lick that off. Which is the final step of eating an ice cream sandwich. If you wash your hands you did it wrong and must start again. My favorite cream sandwich right now is the one made by M&M's. Its ice cream in between two sugar cookies filled with M&M's! Here look!

DELICIOUS!

Cookie Texture

Today is National Sugar Cookie Day! Sugar cookies are among the most popular cookie flavours since they are so basic and are very easy to add almost any kind of decoration to without taking away the taste. The one complaint I usually have about sugar cookies is they are sometimes too hard. That's a general rule for all cookies, actually. The middle should be soft and almost as doughy as the actual dough. Sugar cookies have to follow that rule more than any other, though, as they are so simple. Chocolate chip cookies have chocolate to redeem them. Sugar cookies are just sugar, so you need a great texture to make up for the variety it doesn't have.

Still, sugar cookies are delicious and today is a day to eat them. I work at a bakery, so it'll be pretty easy for me to celebrate. You're just gonna have to figure out if you want to make your own or go to the grocery store and buy some.

Loony For Macaroons

Today is National Macaroon Day! Macaroons are cookies made without flour. They were made a long time ago by italian monks, but became a popular addition to passover meals. They are also very delicious. I really don't know how to convince you to celebrate this holiday, because it you have to be convinced to eat a cookie, there is something wrong with you that I can not fix. Macaroons are by no means rare, so if you can't cook, then you can pick some up at almost any grocery store. So go out and get some already!

Today's title is brought to you by my lack of writing skills today. So... over... done... *dies a little inside*

Goes Great With Everything.

Today is Chocolate Chip Day! Chocolate chips are to thanks for some of the best cookies, cakes, muffins, and most importantly: cookie cakes. They are one of the only key ingredients in some of the best baked goods (by best baked goods, I mean anything with chocolate) that can also be eaten as a snack. In fact, chocolate chip cookies, if made from scratch, are the only thing I know I can make and snack on during almost every step of the baking process. From dough to done, it's all good. So celebrate today by grabbing a bag of chocolate chips and eating as many as you can allow yourself before feeling sick/guilty.
