Back from Vacation

My family vacation to Florida was quite a fun time! We went to Disney World the first day, Universal Studios the second day, and we spent Christmas together at my dad's sister's (my aunt's) house. We played a game of picking and stealing presents (it has a name I just can't remember it at the moment), and I ended up with a starbucks mug that I stole from my dear mother. We went to the beach, played card games, went inside of a large christmas tree in a park, and told stories of what had been happening for the 8 years we hadn't gotten to see each other. All in all, a very fun vacation. I will be posting videos I recorded while I was over there to my fancy-schmancy YouTube account listed right here:

There is already FOUR new vacation videos up right NOW! Enjoy!

Christmas Trip Begins

Well I flew out with my family today into Florida to visit some relatives to go to Disney and enjoy Christmas with. We got here at the hotel at around noon, and I have been eating chocolate all day with either ginger ale, tea, or Dr. Pepper (which is alway a good diet for vacations). My room, to the untrained eye, would appear to be a closet until you open the door, and it reveals a full room, albeit oddly placed. I like it, though, and as the middle child, have come to expect to get such odd living arrangements, and thusly just claim them before they can even be assigned.

We just finished playing poker (using pretzels for chips), and I was the second one out, but not too sad about it, as we were all getting a little tired of playing. Anyway, everyone is winding down and either watching t.v. or heading to the pool. I have no suit for swimming in, and I don't really want to watch T.V. on a vacation. Feel free to head over to my youtube (username kylegoesplaces) and see a match of poker that my dad, brother, and I played. Until then, I will see you next week with all the details of the vacation in full.

What is this?

I was hoping to put a post up yesterday, but my laptop was rejecting the charger for some reason. It's all fixed now, though and you needn't worry. The only reason I wanted it to be yesterday was for the slightly odd reason that both previous posts had been on a wednesday. Well, onto what I want to talk about.

To give you the slightest amount of insight as to what this blog will entail, I figure that introducing myself to you will give you an idea of what to expect. My name is Kyle, and I live in Texas, USA. I have spent the better portion of my life in the same state, city, road, and house. I have a mom, dad, and two brothers in my immediate family. I am the middle of the three children, and am also a boy. I am 20 years old, graduated high school in 2008, and am currently going to college. I have made my way through various sections of my life in vastly different ways, but I'll save those detailed stories for later posts. I have gone to church for as long as I can remember. I have gotten involved in ministry more recently as a counselor in my church's youth group, as well as a summer camp for people that are seniors in high school all the way down to some middle schoolers.

This brings me to why I made this blog. You see, for the past two years I have gone overseas to England and Wales to help with the youth camp there, but have been having a hard time explaining to others what happens while I am over there. I would come home, tell stories, and show pictures, but I still couldn't get what I felt across to the people I told. So, I came up with the idea to simply make a blog with words, videos, and pictures of the events that I saw as I saw them, and fairly close to when they were actually happening. However, it came to my attention that a blog that was only updated for about a week every year would soon probably lose momentum, due to my short attention span. So I instead decided to include you all in as much of my life as possible! I plan to, at the start of the new year, be updating at least one of the sites that I mentioned in the first posts often enough to both keep myself accountable, and keep you up-to-date with my progress in general. Especially including my efforts to raise sufficient funds to be able to go on tour with the youth camp (which by the way is called LIFT), as it can sometimes be a little daunting to do, especially as I am still hunting for a job.

So, now you know a little more. I look forward to updating again, and I hope you look forward to hearing more from me!

Scheduling.

If you've read the first blog on the day it came out, I have a few things to say. First of all, thank you relatives and friends or people who spend way to much time online, as you are the only ones who could have possibly known about it then. Secondly, I am sorry. I have not updated for an entire week in any sense aside from my twitter. Now, this may not be a big deal to you, but I know I easily grow impatient waiting for updates from people I have subscribed to. So this post will explain how the postings will generally work.

I do not in ANY way promise a regular update schedule on ANY of the outlets I have given you. Simply because I have enough things that are already scheduled, that I simply could not handle it at the moment. However, I will say that twitter will most likely be the most often updated, followed by this blog and youtube fairly evenly, and the formspring really depends on how curious you are.

I will say that as holidays come, there will be more posts all around, simply because there is much more happening during those times, obviously. Otherwise, I will post as often as interesting things happen and time permits. I'll be looking into a portable way to update this site, as that will help tremendously. Thanks for reading this!

Here I Go!

I've waited a while to start this! I wanted everything to be just right, and now is just about as right as can be. I suppose I'll use this first post to say what this blog is going to be used for. I will be posting little interesting things that happen to me as I, Kyle, go places. I mean that in almost every sense of the word "go". Whether I'm going to Disney for christmas in the next few weeks, or I am going crazy. The blog will be where any kind of travel I make in my life is put. Now, I've been sneakily sneaking around the internet to make other accounts elsewhere that I can also use to keep in touch with you lovely internet people.

If you desire to know what I am doing at almost any given time, or my random thoughts, you may consider:

If you would like to visibly SEE what I do, or places I have been, perhaps what would be convenient for you would be:

Thirdly, if you would like to ask me question directly without having to tell me who YOU are, then this ones for YOU:

I also have several other things to keep up my sleeve for future events! Believe me, I've spent at least a day's worth of thinking time planning out ways to make this as inclusive as possible. I don't want to overload you with information, though, so I'm going to make this the end of the first post. Thanks for reading it!
