No Scruffy Stuff

Today is No Beard Day! That's right, if you have even the slightest of beards, today is the day to stop having it. Maybe all you have is 5 o'clock shadow, or maybe you've completely forgotten what your chin even looked like. Regardless of the situation, today is the day to shave it all off. Now, some might say that sideburns and moustaches don't count. So for all of our convenience, I've found a simple beard recognition tutorial video for us all to watch.

Hopefully everything is all cleared up now.

News

Today is No News Is Good News Day! Given the history of today, I'm still unsure if this holiday would have been created before or after the events of 9/11. The phrase is to be taken to say that if no news comes, then that in itself is good news. I suppose in a way, that it's true. Seeing as, if you have a project that you've assigned people to and no one ever comes to you with news (aside from "It's done"), then the project must be going well. Either that or your employees are too scared of you to mention anything that does go wrong. The same can be said for media news. If it's a slow news day, it's probably a pretty good day over-all.

With that said, it has been a decade since the 9/11 events, so take some time out of your day to remember and honor all of the people that were affected that day.

I Want to Give the World a Sock.

Today is No Socks Day! Today is a day to let your feet breath a little easier, while possibly hindering YOUR breathing depending on how thorough of a foot washer you are. Wear shoes with no socks or just no shoes at all! You won't have to do as much laundry the next day, and you won't slip and fall on hardwood floors nearly as much, either! ... Is that... just me who does that? Well, fine then. I still say that wearing socks on hard wood can be risky business.

Today is also Have a Coke Day! If there were ever a combination of holidays that perfectly suits my desires, this is one of them. Drinking a  Coca-Cola (Yes, Coke is Coca-Cola, the other ones are Sodas)  with no socks on is one of the few pure pleasures in life. Coke comes in many flavours, sizes, and varieties (much the same as socks... hopefully sans flavour). So go grab a can/cup/bottle/mug/liter/jug of your favourite kind of Coke (Hint: It's Original), wriggle out of your socks (it's hard to kick socks off, plus i wanted to save the verb 'kick' for this next step, and kick (see?) back/relax to truly enjoy the day.

Clean up the Chore Board

Today is No Housework Day!

Well, darn... I had planned to do SO much housework today, but my commitment to celebrating these holidays stops me from doing any at all. Today is just a day to take a break from constantly fixing or cleaning something in your house. If I were to be perfectly honest, I'm not one of those people anyway. However, I do know those people, and I can see why there would be a holiday for them to stop. It may drive you absolutely crazy to see that granola bar wrapper on the coffee table, but today you just don't pick it up. There isn't too much that could become messy in a day unless you live with the tasmanian devil, so it shouldn't be too bad I should hope. One day away from the stresses of constant cleaning. Hopefully you didn't have guests coming today.
