Candy Lies
Today is Candy Corn Day! A lot of people get excited about candy corn for reasons unbeknownst to me. Candy corn takes the names of two delicious things that shouldn't be put together, and ruins them both as individuals and a team. Candy is good. Corn is good. Candy corn tastes like someone used the leftover wax from the previous year's fall candles, but took all the flavor out and replaced it with wet chalk. ... I'm not the biggest fan of candy corn. But, since it's a holiday, I will eat one. ONE piece of candy corn. Other than that, I'll TRY to have a good day.

Chunks of Joy
Today is National Milk Chocolate Day! Milk chocolate is perhaps, the most popular form of chocolate. It may be due to the fact that as young children, we can be given a Hershey's and have nothing explained to us. I remember when my mom first introduced me to dark chocolate and I didn't understand that it wasn't just a change of color. However, today isn't about dark chocolate, it's about milk chocolate. Milk chocolate is by far the best kind, in my own correct opinion. It's good as a bar, as sprinkles, as syrup, as ice cream, and as pretty much anything that chocolate can be used for. So find a way to get some milk chocolate into your gut today (It should be a gut by now if you've been properly celebrating all these food holidays... unless you celebrated yesterday in a hardcore style beyond my comprehension). Once you've gotten your chocolate, you can cross today off the list, too! If you have a list... I do... I don't cross them off though. ... Do whatever it is you do after you celebrate a holiday.

Nobody Likes Licorice.
Today is National Jelly Bean Day! Jelly beans are perhaps a candy category all on their own. There are so many flavors that I think it has to be almost impossible for anyone to not like at least one. I know that I'm a fan of what I like to call the "Pure Flavors". Things like Orange, Cherry, Apple, or other fruits are always welcome to my mixture. I've never been a fan of Popcorn, Coconut, or even Roasted Marshmallow. I like to mix the pure flavors on my own and see what recipes make different tastes thank you very much. And so help me if I find one Licorice even touching on of mine I will flip out. That stuff is nasty and it wrecks everyone's day.
Now, all of this doesn't matter at all if it's not Jelly Belly brand, because they are the flavor masters. No other jelly bean can stand up to them. If you are planning on making your own jelly bean company, then don't. It would be a waste of money because they own the industry. Not in a bad way either. They are just that good. Their one downfall is that they keep making Licorice even though no one likes it. People who say they like it are liars. I've tried it. It isn't good at all. Stop faking it. Even the name "Licorice" tastes bad. People who call Twizzlers "Red Licorice" almost ruined Twizzlers for me.
Here's a graph I didn't make:

Goody Goody
It's National Gumdrop Day! The first day in February about food that is easy for me to come by, and still quite tasty. There are a lot of different gummy candies that are made of the same stuff as gumdrops, but actual gumdrops will always have the very unique and noticeably different texture and taste. The classic gumdrop, in my opinion at least, are the kind with a very light coating of sugar around them (See: Candyland). So since today is dedicated to gumdrops, I will eat the ones that I just so happen to have from recent holidays and vacations. Even though they are fruit flavoured, and usually gumdrops are flavoured in different minty tastes. I prefer the fruit flavour, though. I don't know why this holiday is in February and not December, as I could have made a gingerbread house or some such thing. Oh, well. Time to go eat some candy!
